For years, Messiah Lutheran Church has been getting Kennedy kids to school. When families without stable housing needed transportation, Messiah found a way. Year after year, no fanfare.
It worked. In the first year, attendance rates for kids who needed transportation jumped from 78% to 92%. Read the full story here.
In early 2026, a small group of Kennedy community members decided to build something more lasting around that. Something flexible enough to meet needs as they come up, and sustainable enough to still be running ten years from now. We formed Kennedy Family Support Network, Inc., a Wisconsin 501(c)(3) nonprofit, because we believe the Kennedy community has everything it needs to take care of its own. It just needed a structure to do it.
Messiah made the founding investment. Kennedy families, neighbors, and community partners are funding the rest.
The van launches September 2026.
